I am passionate about conservation and the environment. I have over 8 years of working experience in management of wildlife resources, habitat management and biodiversity conservation. I am well acquainted with conservation of wetland ecosystems including mammals, waterbirds as well as wetland vegetation. My current research is focused on establishing population status and distribution of wetland flagship species, particularly Wattled and Grey Crowned Cranes in Zambia. With the use of GIS and other techniques, I would like to determine local movements and migration patterns as well as map nesting and roosting sites for these important bird species. This work is mainly aimed at raising the profile of wetlands as important ecosystems that support biodiversity and thus influence more concerted efforts to safeguard the future of the many species that depend on them.
